– Getting started –

Personal training for beginners.

You do not need to get fit before seeing a personal trainer. At East 2 West Fitness, the first step is a free intro session: talk through what you want help with, see the Ringwood studio and try a coached session before deciding what comes next.

Takes 60 seconds. No card required. We'll call you back the same day.

What happens at your first session?

We start with a conversation about what you want to change, what you have tried and what has made it difficult to keep going. You might want to feel more comfortable using weights, rebuild a routine after time away or get stronger for everyday life. An ordinary, practical goal is a useful starting point.

Then you try a coached session so you can see how we work. You can ask questions as you go, rather than trying to remember everything for later. If it feels like a good fit, we talk through a plan for your first month, including your sessions and how they fit around your week.

One-on-one or with someone you know?

Both are options at East 2 West. The choice is less about how fit you are and more about how you prefer to train. Start with the arrangement you can see yourself turning up for.

Comparing individual and partner personal training
Training formatWhen it may suit you
One-on-oneYou want an individual appointment and time to work through questions with your coach.
One-on-twoYou would like to train with a partner, friend or family member whose availability fits yours.

If you are considering partner training, ask how sessions work when you have different goals or experience. You do not need to settle on a format before getting in touch.

Come ready to talk, not to impress

Wear what you would normally exercise in and think about the times you could realistically train. Travel, work and family commitments matter as much as a clear goal. Tell your coach what has got in the way before, whether that was uncertainty about equipment, an overly ambitious schedule or simply not enjoying the gym.

Mention any injury, health condition or movement you are unsure about before you start. Ask whether advice from your treating health professional would help us plan your training. You should feel comfortable asking for an explanation or saying when something does not feel right.

Leave knowing your next step

Before deciding on a plan, ask how often you would attend, what you would do between sessions and how your coach reviews your progress. A useful first month gives you a routine you understand and a chance to learn the movements, rather than a deadline for changing your body.

Our private studio is at 150 Maroondah Hwy, Ringwood. You can meet the coaching team, compare our training options or book your free intro session and talk through your starting point with us.
